Located on the rural fringe of Cambridge in Peake Road, Podium Lodge, Cambridge’s newest accommodation facility, has been open for business for 6 months and is thriving. Opening in the height of the summer season meant the team’s days were full of firsts with high occupancy numbers. Anne Edgecombe, Manager, said they embraced the challenge and were delighted in how the property has settled in the rhythm and routines of a busy accommodation facility.
Catering for every type of guest from the business/ corporate traveller, tourist and groups alike, the 86 beds and various room configurations, means this self-catering facility has functional and comfortable cost-effective accommodation options for those staying in Cambridge.
Anne said, “Podium Lodge is a new fresh contribution to Cambridge and Waipa’s accommodation stock, that offers something a little different with the layout of its campus and the modern sporty vibe. Anyone is welcome at Podium Lodge, you don’t have to be an athlete or sports minded but you just never know who you might be staying in the next room!”
Olympic gold medallists, All Blacks and iconic athletes have mixed and mingled with other guests seamlessly over the past few months, says Anne.
Owned and operated by the Brian Perry Charitable Trust, the Podium Lodge team are incredibly proud of the Social Enterprise model they operate under and goals that 100% of proceeds are given back to the community.
