Eltje competed in road racing for Te Awamutu Sports Cycling Club for over 10yrs. Everything changed on 5th March 2016 while out on a training ride. She was found on the road by a passing motorist after a hit and run incident near Te Anga. She was flown to Waikato Hospital where she arrived in the lowest level on the coma scaled from which people can recover.
Today, here exhausting rehabilitation and amazing resilience has seen her invited to ride for New Zealand in the Para-Cycling Road World Championships in Italy.
You are invited to jioin Eltje for afternoon tea and hear her story, as a fundraiser to support Eltje's journey to the Para-Cycling Road World Championships, Italy.
