Waipa Networks Business Awards Appoints Ambassador

Grant Johnson of Rocketspark appointed 2019 Awards Ambassador for Waipa Networks

Business.

The Awards season is soon to be upon us and newly appointed Grant Johnson will
become a familiar face for entrants and sponsors alike as he takes on his role as Awards Ambassador for 2019.
The Awards Ambassador was a new role created in 2018, with Kerry Saberton from Jigsaw Professional Development, doing a fantastic job within the business community to both promote the Awards and support entrants as the first ever Ambassador.
This year will see Kerry move into a new role within the Awards programme and Grant Johnson from
Rocketspark take the helm.

“Grant was the logical choice for this year’s Awards Ambassador, as Co-Founder of Rocketspark, he has driven an exciting growth journey for the business, that has seen it break into the international market while generating great support locally. Rocketspark and Grant have intricate knowledge of the Awards both as an entrant and as a sponsor and will be able to provide invaluable support and encouragement to their business peers throughout the process. Welcome to the team Grant.”
Kelly Bouzaid, Cambridge Chamber of Commerce.

Grant Johnson is Co-Founder and CEO of Rocketspark - a beautifully simple website builder that enables non-technical business owners to make their own website. From their HQ in Cambridge, New Zealand, Rocketspark has built an impressive client base around the world and continue to innovate as they develop their world class platform.
Grant returned to New Zealand from the UK in 2017 where he’d been launching Rocketspark into the UK. Grant and the team at Rocketspark have a unique perspective of the Waipa Networks Business Awards as website sponsors and through a close connection to businesses throughout Waipa and Raglan with 45% of the 2018 award winners having websites powered by Rocketspark. Rocketspark were also 2018 co-winner of Best Customer Service Award and Rocketspark's Partner Manager Greg Wallace received the Emerging Business Leader award in 2016.
Grant will represent the Awards at key networking events, information sessions and at the upcoming
Launch, and is excited to be involved commenting,

“I’m really pleased to support the Waipa Business Awards as the awards ambassador for 2019. At
Rocketspark we have a unique perspective on the awards as website sponsor, past winner, and service provider to a large number of past winners. We’re really motivated to help businesses in our region succeed and this is a great opportunity to actively encourage businesses to benchmark themselves against the best by entering the Awards.”
Grant Johnson, CEO and Co-Founder, Rocketspark.

The aim of his involvement in the Awards this year is to add real value for entrants, as his advice and support comes from the voice of experience.
Grant will be speaking at the Awards Launch, at Mystery Creek Headquarters on the 4 th April, alongside the Chambers, sponsors and other previous winners. It’s a great night to learn more about entering the awards over some light refreshments. Those attending will also have the opportunity to win a spot prize or two! If you are interested in attending, RSVP via the website – www.waipabusinessawards.co.nz.

PomPom Events & Marketing have also been re-appointed to assist with the management of the Awards programme. Business partners Natalie Rutene and Charlotte Tollervey of locally based PomPom are looking forward to growing the event further, commenting,

“We are excited to have the opportunity to be involved with the Awards again this season. We truly
believe in this event and its importance to the business community. It provides an opportunity and a
platform for businesses to both reflect on and celebrate their successes as well as allowing them the
space to focus on the future. We are looking forward to bringing something different to the table with
the Gala event, as well as further honing the Awards process/experience for all entrants - it’s going to be a fantastic season ahead.”

Charlotte Tollervey, Managing Partner, PomPom Events & Marketing
