At an eyeopening Networking Over Coffee event held by Cambridge Community House, Harriet Dixon, General Manager, shared some of the important services they provide to our community.
Services include: Budgeting, counselling, family violence support, substance abuse services, education and adult literacy, along with referrals and emergency assistance.
Providing a range of community services for those in need, both short-term and long-term, the Community House reaches Cambridge's most vulnerable. Demand has doubled in the last 4 years, and with our town's ongoing growth trajectory, is unlikely to slow down any time soon.
Almost all services are provided at no-charge to the client, so securing funding is an extensive and ongoing part Community House operations.
Exiting things are on the horizon for the next year, with a much needed extension planned, which will increase capacity and provide new spaces for staff and clients.
Upcoming fundraising includes an Evening of Stories and Songs with local celebrities, Tim Finn, Allyson Gofton and Harry Parsons with MC Simon Perry.
